A Close Game with Savannah

From the May 11, 1905 Skidmore New Era, page 8:

The Maryville High School base ball team played a close game with the Savannah High School, at Savannah, Saturday.  The score was 13 to 14 in favor of Savannah. The Maryville boys had an enjoyable trip, however, and were much pleased with the way the people of Savannah treated them.

As the bus rolled down the street toward the Burlington depot, the boys gave three cheers for the professor who had treated them so royally, three cheers for the cop on the corner and three cheers for the Normal which is to be located in Maryville, Nodaway, Missouri.
