A Cutting Affair

Crime news from the July 5, 1913 Skidmore New Era (Skidmore, Missouri), page 8:

A Cutting Affair on Thomas Ranch

A man by the name of Smith, working on the W. A. Thomas ranch, east of Fairfax, cut up another workman with a pocket knife Saturday.  It seems that Smith and the man who got cut with the knife were working about the place Saturday when they got into a dispute.  The other workman picked up a neck yoke and started to use it on Smith who drew his knife and slashed his companion several times on the side and arm.

The wounds, although long were not very deep and the doctors think the injured man will recover.

Smith immediately left the country and has not been arrested.  A warrant has been sworn out and the authorities are trying to capture him.
