What Skidmore has in the way of businesses are as follows: Two banks, three hardware stores, two of them handling furniture, two millinery stores, five general merchandise stores who carry full and complete lines, three drug stores, three restaurants, two blacksmith shops, two pool rooms, one lumber yard, one flouring mill, one elevator, one good hotel, one feed store, one livery barn, one opera house, three churches, one photographer, two barber shops and last but not least, a good public school.
