Notes or transcript:  “A. B. Appleman, a few miles southwest of this city, who suffered a stroke of apoplexy about two years ago, was seriously injured the latter part of last week by a cow. The animal first attacked Mr. Appleman’s grandchild and when Mr. Appleman interfered the cow rushed upon him, knocking him down, and bruised him badly by stamping his body. Mr. Appleman would probably have been killed had it not been for the nearness of his sons who came to his assistance and drove off the infuriated animal.”
