Notes or transcript:  “J. Appleman, the liveryman, gave an impromptu exhibition of high class driving on Elm and Walnut streets last Saturday morning. He started to drive a commercial man to some neighboring town when his team got gay and tried to run away and kick away at one and the same time. They cut ‘pigeon wings,’ turned circles, and cut all kinds of capers, but Mr. Appleman held onto them and the traveling man held on to him until the ponies gave it up as a bad job.”
