Article title:  Watson is Acquitted

Notes or transcript:  Article from the Fairfax Forum reporting that Grant Watson, who was on trial for the killing of G. W. Arbuthnot, was acquitted. Attorneys T. E. Haynes of Skidmore, John Kennish of Mound City, and Hunt & Bailey of Rock Port argued for the defense. Dr. Hedgpeth, the coroner, was called as a witness for the state, as we A. E. Helmer, the undertaker, and Milo Etherton, the hired man who witnessed Arbuthnot choking his wife. Etherton summoned Watson, the foreman on Ed Bilby’s ranch, where the incident took place.
