Staples, manager of the Bell telephone, of Maryville, was in our city a short time Sunday afternoon and was the center of attraction while here as he was riding in an automobile. He made a short stop at the Bell telephone office at Wade & Hitchcock’s drug store. He was inspecting the telephone offices of Graham, Maitland, and this place and was accompanied by his wife and little son.”
