Notes or transcript:  “Sunday was a wild day. Most people around here who did not have to go out into the storm, were content to stay indoors and watch the flying snow pile up into drifts. Jas. R. Bagby had about one hundred cattle in a stalk field west of the river, and fearing that the storm might grow worse and be prolonged, he and his men saddled their horses and drove the cattle home.”
