Notes or transcript:  “W. H. James informed us that one day last week while he and Mart Baker were walking in Mr. Baker’s field he noticed what seemed to be grasshoppers. Upon examination it was found that they were young ones some thing over half an inch in length, but very lively and could jump quite a distance. It is supposed with the warm weather they had hatched out and were skipping around thinking spring had come. — Stanberry Headlight.”
