Notes or transcript:  “Geo. Barrett and wife and Jas. Wellington returned home last Sunday morning, from a trip into Eastern Nebraska, where they went to dispose of a load of peaches. George says he made a short stay in Sterling, Nebr., and there met Col. M. N. Dorgherty [Dougherty], Walt Sandifer, and John Barkley. He said John Barkley is working there as night watch and that Col. Dougherty has a very nice stock of drugs and is doing well.”
