Baseball on Sunday, 1905

You’ve been warned. ¬†From the May 25, 1905 Skidmore New Era, page 4:

Take Notice.

Notice is hereby given that all persons hereafter who shall engage in the game of Base Ball on the first day of the week, commonly called Sunday, at or near Skidmore, Mo., will be prosecuted under the statutes of the state as is in such case made and provided.

This notice is given in order that those in the habit (as well as others) of engaging in said game on said day may apprise themselves if they are not already aware of the penalty of such action.
