Notes or transcript:  Article reporting that Clark Bender, son of Mr. and Mrs. Ed J. Bender of Elmo, fell on a lead pencil that was in his upper vest pocket. The pencil point penetrated his chest and broke against the rib. Dr. Shepard treated the wound, and Clark’s two grandmothers, Mrs. Samuel Bender and Mrs. Wesley Clark, took the train up to Elmo to see him.
