From the January 28, 1915 edition of the Skidmore New Era (Skidmore, Missouri), page 1:

Big Sunday School Rally.

On last Sunday a union Sunday school was held at the Methodist Episcopal Church in Skidmore.

The three Sunday schools of the town met in joint assembly and was said to be the largest Sunday school ever held in the city.

There were almost 400 present and the collection amounted to $10.20.

The officers were G. L. Owen, Supt.; Mervyn Gray and Jake Suetterlin, assistant Supts.; Chas Owens and Mrs. Theo. Gray, Junior Supts.

Teachers:  J. C. Spahr, Stratford Saunders, W. M. Howden, Miss Maude Linville, Mrs. Henry Barrett, Miss Mattie Tarpley, Ross DeWitt, Frank Barrett, Mrs. Ray Strickler, Mrs. Frank Jones, Miss Juanita Owens, and L. D. Jordan, Sec’y-Treas.

It was a red letter day for Skidmore and everyone enjoyed the exercises in the best of spirits.

A great many present expressed themselves as wanted another big Sunday school in the near future.
