Notes or transcript:  “John S. Bilby has started out with the determination to be the biggest land owner in the United States. It would be a hard matter to determine the extent of his belongings. Certainly Mr. Bilby wouldn’t tell you. They say you can start from Quitman and drive for 20 miles on his land. He has large holdings in Atchison and Holt counties, as well as Nodaway. Then he owns several thousand acres in Nebraska, also has large tracts in Texas. His latest move is in leasing the Indian lands in the Indian Territory. He now has 90,000 acres in the strip and says he will not stop until he gets 125,000. — Fairfax Forum.”
