Notes or transcript:  “Through the generosity of T. B. Slaughter we placed Mrs. C. E. Bishop’s name on our book of subscriptions. Mrs. Bishop lives in Diller, Nebr. We have quite a number of people in this part of the country who would be equally as generous if they were not so absent-minded. We would like to have a few more subscribers, just to make the thing interesting. Come in and give us the names of two or three – or a dozen – of your friends, and let us send them the Standard. We would appreciate this favor equally as much at the dozen friends.”
