Notes or transcript:  “During the electric storm last Thursday afternoon, lightning struck a hay stack belonging to W. R. Linville & Sons, and burned it to the ground. There were about ten tons of hay in the stack. We also learn that Wm. Blackney had about 20 tons of hay burned the same afternoon, by being struck by lightning.”
