Notes or transcript:  “Owing to the supply of ice being exhausted J. T. Tate has been hauling ice from Maitland. He informed us that while in Maitland Tuesday the Burlington pump house on the Nodaway river caught fire and was destroyed. The fire, it is supposed, originated from wet coal which was thrown into the bin a few days ago.”
