Notes or transcript:  “Dr. A. T. Campbell had the misfortune to slip and fall down the steps near the depot, last Sunday night, and received a very severe sprain of the left ankle. Those old steps are a nuisance and an eye sore to the town. They could be removed with but little work and expense to our city. Some one will fall down the fool things one of these dark nights and break his neck, then sue the town for damages. The street ought to be graded down, before cold weather, accompanied with sleet and snow, sets in.”
