Notes or transcript:  Opinion piece about a bill introduced by C. J. Colden of Nodaway County that would require village boards to publish in the local newspaper a summary of the meeting minutes within eight days of a meeting. The Standard editor argued that small towns had enough expenses as it was, and that any significant news from such meetings would already be reported as news. He further argues that property should be assessed at its actual value.
