Notes or transcript:  “In a letter dated at Manchester, Iowa, October 12, and addressed to the Omaha chief of police, Pat Crowe’s uncle informed the police that if the reward was withdrawn and a release bond guaranteed not to exceed $500 that his nephew was willing to surrender himself for trial. The rewards have been withdrawn, but justice will offer no encouragement in the matter of fixing bonds. All the same Pat has supplied the sleuths with another clew, with the aid of his Iowa uncle.”
