Doc Albright Visits Skidmore, 1913

One of the many things we love about the old Skidmore newspapers is the chance to catch up with old friends near and far.  Here’s one such account from the February 13, 1913 Skidmore New Era (Skidmore, Missouri), page 5:

Here from Oklahoma.

D. J. Albright, or “Doc,” as he is familiarly known, of Roosevelt, Oklahoma, is visiting his son, F. S. Albright, our Meat Market proprietor, and other relatives and old friends of Skidmore.

Mr. Albright left here over twenty years ago and has not been here before for sixteen years.  He says that there has been many changes since he left but the most notable ones are the many missing faces among his old friends and boyhood chums.

Doc was born and raised in this part of the county and says that no difference where he goes, old Nodaway county will always be home to him.
