Notes or transcript:  “Our punkin editor is in receipt of a pretty souvenir ‘Peace Pipe’ from the well known live stock commission firm of Evans, Snider, Buel Co., of Kansas City. To all lovers of a good smoke it is a fine set ’em up, as there is a package of smoking tobacco, and all one has to do is borrow a match and take solid comfort. Our punkin editor hopes he appreciates the spirit in which it was sent and values it highly as a souvenir, but feels quite certain that he will enjoy more peace by leaving the pipe alone as he knows how abhorred – by his stomach – is one childhood experience when juvenile memories hoves it in sight, for visiting a nicotine factory, he tried to raise Jonah the rest of the night.”
