Notes or transcript:  “Stephen Beverlin’s barn, near the bridge over the tracks, on High street, was consumed by fire early Tuesday morning. The origin of the fire is not known. A mare belonging to G. R. Davis, south of town, was tied in the barn at the time and was burned. There were only a few persons who saw the fire and they did not get to the barn in time to do anything. The fire started about half past two o’clock.”
