Article title:  Killed by a Horse

Notes or transcript:  Article describing the death of Spencer Gant, age 15, who was trampled to death by a horse. Wm. M. Howden assisted in saddling the horse, and he and Arthur Brown attempted to rescue Spencer. The funeral was conducted by Rev. D. W. Conner at Mr. Howden’s residence, where the boy had been living. Spencer was buried in the Masonic Cemetery.
