Notes or transcript:  “Bert Bender, a young farmer west of town, while hauling a load of straw from Wm. E. Hammond’s farm, last Friday, in some way lost his equilibrium and fell from the top of the load to the ground. He struck on his head and shoulders and was rendered unconscious for a time from the effects of the shock. Otherwise, aside from a few bruises, he was uninjured.”
