Notes or transcript:  “Uncle Milt Herron went to Skidmore Tuesday evening to visit the I. O. O. F. lodge at that place, which is on the boom, having about twenty new candidates for initiation. Uncle Milt is a great favorite with the Skidmore boys and before the session a number of them got together, chipped in and bought a fine gold watch chain with a ‘three link’ emblem which they presented him at the close of the session. To say that Uncle Milt prizes the gift highly is a feeble expression. – Mound City News.”
