Notes or transcript:  “W. D. Hess of 41-9 and Bertha M. Ellis of Saguache were married yesterday at high noon at the residence of the bride’s father, George P. Ellis, on the Lower Saguache. Rev. E. O. Butler of the Baptist church officiated. The immediate relatives of the bride, Joe Mayfield and a brother and sister of Mr. Hess, from the 41 country and Harvey Ellis and wife of Milegan, Montana, witnessed the ceremony. After dinner was served the newly wedded pair departed for their home already prepared a few miles northwest of Hooper. The above was taken from the Saguache (Colo.) Crescent. W. D. Hess is a son of John Hess, who at one time was a resident of this city.”
