Is Your Fly Trap Working?

It’s that time of year again, and the May 15, 1913 Skidmore New Era (Skidmore, Missouri) asks an all-important question:

Is Your Fly Trap Working

What are you doing toward “swatting the fly?”  If every one in this town was doing half as much toward exterminating the great enemy of the home, the common house fly, as Uncle Joe Parrish of Skidmore is, the fly would soon be an extinct insect.  In a few years he would be found preserved in alcohol and seen only in our museums as a relic of the barbarism of former days when men didn’t know any better than breed flies instead of exterminating them.
