Joy to Skidmore

News from the Ravenwood Gazette, as printed by the November 17, 1899 Skidmore Standard:

N. J. Smith bought the residence and seven acres of ground owned by H. H. Joy in the north end of Ravenwood for $2,500. He will move to town as soon as Mr. Joy can vacate the house. We welcome him as a resident to Ravenwood. Mr. Joy as been a resident of Ravenwood since the spring of 1895. In March of that year he and A. G. Bentley formed a partnership and started the Ravenwood bank, which business he sold to J. C. Fryar the fall of ’98. Mr. Joy went to Skidmore Wednesday, we understand, to look up a new location. We regret to loose him as a resident of our town, but congratulate the community in which he and his family may locate. – Ravenwood Gazette.
