Kellogg had a drag made out of two heavy pieces of timber and a strap of iron, which served as a knife, and hired a man to drag the streets and roads for a mile or two into the country. The ground was too dry and hard to give complete satisfaction, however it helped the roads and streets for travel and greatly improved their appearance.”
