Notes or transcript:  “One of the oldest, most highly esteemed and widely known citizens, Hiram Knepper, of Atchison county, died at his home six miles west and two north of Skidmore, last Sunday night. He was taken sick some time last winter with lagrippe which terminated into jaundice, but for the past few weeks was thought to be getting along nicely. The funeral was held at Walkup’s Grove church Wednesday. We have been unable to learn further particulars.”
