Leland Linville Returns, 1919

“No place looks so good to him as this.” Happy news from the March 13, 1919 Skidmore News (Skidmore, Missouri), page 1:

Leland Linville Returns

Another of the Monroe township boys who was called upon to go to France to do his bit in making the world safe for democracy, has returned home. Leland Linville, one who served in the 3rd division, received his discharge from the service March 11, at Camp Dodge, after having been there only a few days after his return from France.

Leland is eleven pounds heavier than he was when he entered the service and is feeling fine with the exception of sore feet. They are gradually getting better and in time Leland will be as good as new.

In all his travels, Leland has seen lots of country but no place looks so good to him as this.
