Notes or transcript:  “L. C. Gooden, one of the editors of the Parnell Sentinel, left Sunday for Texas in search of a warmer climate or something else. For the benefit of other Northwest Missouri editors who would like to warm up, the Standard will say that it is not at all necessary to go south. Last week we warned the farmers of this vicinity against paying more than the customary price for linseed oil and the following day a fellow came in and promised the editor one of the hottest of hot times.”
