Notes or transcript:  “Charles Trout, the horse thief who escaped from Marshal Miller, Sunday morning, September 7, was recaptured about ten miles north of Afton, Iowa, last Sunday, by W. M. Howden. A horse which the thief had stolen near York, Atchison county, was also secured. Trout was placed in the county jail to await the action of the court.”
