Notes or transcript:  “The following was written by a Missouri editor and of course it is true: ‘It is related that a Missouri editor dreamed that he died, and of course went to heaven and knocked at the golden gate and was promptly admitted. After spending several hours taking in the sights of the city he suddenly came to a man in chains. This greatly surprised him so he inquired of Peter if they had had to punish men in heaven. ‘Oh,’ said the good saint; ‘that man is just from Missouri; we always have to chain Missourians to keep them from going back.'”
