Mrs. Saunders Returns

From the November 23, 1911 Skidmore New Era (Skidmore, Missouri), page 1:

Returned Home Monday.

Mrs. S. Saunders returned home Monday from her five months trip with her daughters in Kallispel, Montana.  Her journey through Montana to Billings was a continuous struggle through snow.  All the trains carried snow plows and in many places the snow was 2 1/2 to 3 feet deep.  From Billings on south the snow became lighter until it disappeared altogether.  Mrs. Saunders stopped off on her way at Mound City where she visited her daughter, Mrs. James Kennish.  There she found Mr. Saunders and they came up to their home Monday morning.

In talking to Mr. Saunders he tells us that hog cholera has been almost a plague in some parts of Holt county, the worst it has been in years.
