Notes or transcript:  “Wilson Heffner, of near Coin, Iowa, was visiting southwest of town this week with his brother-in-law, W. S. Hickman. He was accompanied by Wm. Newdick, also of Coin, who is well known in and around Skidmore. Mr. Newdick called Thursday and made himself square with the printers. He said he noticed that several nice improvements have been made in Skidmore since he left here, last August, and that he is more firmly convinced than ever that Skidmore is one of the best towns on the map.”
