Old Year Out, New Year In.

The old year was bidden adieu and the New Year ushered in at the New Commercial Hotel by one of those inimitable dinners given by Mrs. Sewell.  Covers were laid for seventeen and all invited guests were present.  A very enjoyable time was had, toasts were given and responses made at the table and after dinner until midnight the time was quickly and pleasantly spent playing Some’r’Set.  With the arrival of the New Year the guests departed to their several homes wishing the hostess all the good there possibly be in store for her during the coming year. — xx.

A Pleasant Party.

A very pleasant and entertaining party was given Saturday by Mr. and Mrs. Alex Wells and Misses Alma and Katie Rodman at the Rodman home.  The rooms were beautifully decorated in the holiday colors, red and green.  Progressive Some’r’Set at twelve tables was played and Miss Helen Hutt and Elmer Howden winning the honors.

A two-course luncheon was served. Needless to say all had a good time.  Those who got beat at Some’r’Set had just as much fun playing the game as the winners and scored as high when it came to the luncheon.
