Parshall – Carden

Tuesday of last week, July 6, occurred the marriage of Miss Vena Carden and Mr. R. E. Parshall, both being residents of this community.

This happy event occurred at the M. E. parsonage at Maryville, Rev. S. S. Martin officiating.

These young people are two of our most respected citizens.  The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Mart Carden, of near Quitman, a family of respectability and industry.  The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. James Parshall, industrious people, who live but two miles southeast of our little city.

For the present this happy couple are just visiting among their friends and relatives, but when the golden autumn dawns it will see them both at work.

Mrs. Parshall is a school teacher of ability and has the Carter school, just three miles north of her parents, which begins Sept. 1.  Mr. Parshall has been studying for the ministry at Cameron, Mo., and will enter school again about the 1st of September.

The New Era joins the many friends of these young people in wishing them a happy and prosperous journey through life.
