Parsons Reunite After 16 Years

In these days of texts, email, and Facebook, we sometimes forget how easy it could be to lose touch.  Here’s an example from the Skidmore New Era (Skidmore, Missouri), June 8, 1911, page 5:

First Word From Father in Sixteen Years.

Tom Parsons received a letter this week from his father, S. C. Parsons, the first word he has had from him for 16 years.  In some way Mr. Parsons and his father lost track of each other, and by a mere chance he heard his address and writing to Grannis, Arkansas, got an immediate reply from his father, saying that he was well.
