Pierpoints Entertain.

Dr. and Mrs. J. E. Pierpoint entertained Tuesday evening at their home, with a 6:30 o’clock dinner.  Seventy-two guests were in attendance.  After all the guests had arrived, Dr. Pierpoint invited them to the basement floor where the banquet was served.  The room was prettily decorated, Christmas colors being used.

The following menu was served:  Cream Chicken, Biscuits, June Salad, Olives, Jelly, Mashed Potatoes, Fruit Cake, Brick Ice Cream, Coffee.

After lunch the ladies were invited to the first floor of the house where they enjoyed after dinner mints, while the men remained below and enjoyed a smoker.

After a time, the house was divided for the recreation period.  Those who wished to play bridge were given that privilege on one side of the house, while those who preferred Somerset was given the other side.

Mrs. Pierpoint was assisted in serving by Mrs. Frank Barrett, Mrs. W. G. Reynolds and Mrs. J. A. Hill.

This party was one of the largest social events of the year in Skidmore. Mrs. Pierpoint, who belongs to no club, has received so many invitations to these parties that she wanted to return the favor to her many friends, and so gave this dinner Tuesday night.
