Notes or transcript:  “The band concert and ice cream social which was held by Manchester’s Band on the Pinkston lawn last Saturday afternoon and evening was well attended and a good time was had by all present. They took in about twenty dollars. Considering the length of time the band has been organized they made some good music. They are thinking of giving a concert and social every other Saturday. They should receive the support of all the business men in town and be encouraged in their efforts to establish a band for our city.”
