Delicious news from the March 23, 1905 Skidmore New Era (Skidmore, Missouri), page 1:

Our Room Has Been Repapered and Refitted adn We are Better Prepared than EVER to take care of the HUNGRY.  We carry a full line of cigars and confections.  Our candy line is complete and we can supply the most fastidious in this line.  The services of Mr. Charles Heflin, a First Class Short Order Cook, has been secured and is ready, at all times, to serve you with everything the market affords, in a clean and up-to-date style. Purchased Soda Fountain.

M. A. Wilke & Co. have purchased of W. F. Wade his soda fountain which was operated with success in his drug store last summer.

This is one of the best fountains in this part of the state, and by far the best in Skidmore and is a valuable acquisition to the restaurant in which it has been placed. Since taking charge of the Garnett stand Mr. Wilke and those associated with him have made many changes and improvements which makes theirs one of the best places, of this kind, in this part of the state.
