School Starts in Skidmore, 1900

From the September 7, 1900 edition of the Skidmore Standard (Skidmore, Missouri):

Our Schools.

The Skidmore schools opened Monday with Prof. A. S. J. Smith, principal, Miss Mary Kaull, teacher in grammar department; Miss Lucy Davis, intermediate department; and Miss Myra Burke in primary room.

At present there is an enrollment of 155 pupils, eighteen of whom are non-residents. There are 35 in the high school, 42 in the grammar dept., 38 in the intermediate dept., and 36 in the primary room. The teachers have progressed nicely with their work this week and will doubtless continue to do so throughout the term if the parents will co-operate with them.
