Seven Go to Oakley

A few northwest Missourians headed to Kansas in August 1906, as we see in the August 9, 1906 edition of the Skidmore New Era (Skidmore, Missouri), page 1:

Seven Go to Oakley.

Seven persons took advantage of the excursion rate to Oakley, Kansas, Tuesday.  The excursion was in charge of Stratford Saunders who has considerable land in that country listed for sale.

Mrs. Saunders accompanied Mr. Saunders and they will also go to Hoxie to visit their sons, James and Arthur.  James and family and Arthur contemplate moving to eastern Washington this fall and their father and mother take this as an opportunity to pay them their last visit in Kansas.

The company was made up of Mr. Hutchison, Fred Lyle, M. Ham, Ed Littler, Harvey Steiner and Mr. Charles of Graham.
