Notes or transcript:  “The business firms in town using the acetylene gas lights were not so well lighted, as usual, the fore part of the week. The supply of carbide had been exhausted and they could get no more at the time. M. A. Sewell and A. F. Hitchcock drove down to Maitland Wednesday forenoon and got a small supply which will probably last until the other arrives.”
