Article title:  A Hay Ride

Notes or transcript:  “There was a jolly hay ride organized here, Wednesday evening. There were twelve in the party and on the road to and from Maitland, under the light of a splendid moon, they had as merry a time as any other crowd ever had on a similar occasion. At Maitland all the business houses were closed but with the assistance of J. L. Betz a confectionery man was aroused and the party was served with ice cream and ice cream soda.”
