St. Joseph Automobile Show, 1919

We don’t know about you, but we like the idea of an automobile show that includes a fine musical and vaudeville program. Text from the March 13, 1919 Skidmore News (Skidmore, Missouri), page 5:

St. Joseph Automobile Show

St. Joseph will offer one of the biggest Automobile, Truck and Tractor Shows in its history, in the Auditorium, March 19-20-21 and 22, when a number of novelties will be shown in addition to the 1919 models of cars of all descriptions.

Because for the great demand for space for passenger cars, the balcony of the immense hall will be used for the first time, a platform being built all around it, which will double the space for this class of cars. The basement has all been taken for tractors and an additional space on the outside may be necessary. If this is done, admission will not be extra.

The Curtis Company will exhibit a War Airplane on the stage, with two experts in attendance to explain its workings. This will be the first time an exhibit of this kind has been displayed in this part of the country.

A fine musical and vaudeville program will be given afternoon and evening. The St. Joseph Automobile Association promises the best attraction of its kind ever shown in the Missouri Valley.

In addition to the above a Rest Room will be installed on the first floor where Victrolas, Graphophones and other musical instruments will be played for the amusement of guests at the show.

One admission to all the shows.
