Notes or transcript:  “Rock Port, June 10, 1899: – Enclosed please find check for $3.00. Please give me credit on the great ‘Moral and Religious Weekly,’ as we can’t keep house without it. I don’t know just how my account stands. If you will send me statement I will fix it up. This leaves us all well, and hope it will find you the same. I would be pleased to attend your great 4th of July celebration but my business is such that it will be impossible for me to do so. Give my regards to all my old time frinds as I shoudl be glad to meet them. Business is rushing on our little road. Yours, J. N. Strawn. We thank Mr. Strawn for the remittance and his words of encouragement. His subscription mark is now extended to January 1, 1901, which is farther ahead than any name on our book.”
