Notes or transcript:  “Mrs. Benjamin Tarpley left Tuesday evening to attend the burial of her father, John Hanoway, at Columbia, Tennessee. Mr. Hanoway lived, until eight years ago, twelve miles southwest of Maryville, and came here before the war. He died Monday, the 19th, rather suddenly at the age of 76 years. Mr. Hanoway had never been known to employ the services of a physician. A wife and seven children survive him, one daughter living at Billings, Montana. – Maryville Tribune.”
